IM SO SAD ABOUT THE CHARGES FOR FAST PASS, NOW LIGHTING LANE. YOU TAKE A FAMILY OF FOUR, ADD UP TRAVEL EXPENSES, HOTEL, ADMISSION TO FOUR PARKS AND FOOD. I THINK ITS A DAMN SHAME. ANOTHER THING DISNEY GETS ALL THEIR COKE COLA PRODUCTS ABSOLUTELY FREE. WHAT THEY CHARGE IS SO WRONG, THEY ARE MAKING 400% PROFIT. THATS DISGUSTING. CEO SALARY IS OVER SEVERAL MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR. 😎I’ve been going to WDW since it opened in 1971, yup, I’m old lol Haven’t used or been a fan of ALL this charging guests MORE$$$$ on top of ridiculous ticket prices👎🥴 Old time Fast pass was FREE AND worked just fine! Disney has just been cash grabbing left and right, I Mean… look how much just EARS cost now!! People have to take a loan out to take their family there! Not at ALL Walt’s vision😢👎

Thanks for the update... You rock! The new Lightning Lane Multi Pass looks EXACTLY like the old Fast Pass + …. EXCEPT… the pre plan window is shorter AND you have to pay for it. I truly think that when people say they miss the old Fast Pass + they are mostly meaning that they miss having a “no extra cost” option to ride at least a few rides without a crazy wait time. When Genie + launched it was only $15. Now most days that you truly need it the cost is around $40… per person. If you are one person… maybe. If you have a family of 5… well that’s not an easy decision. The one saving grace is that if you knew how to stack the LL picks… you can end up getting quite a few rides into one day. Now it looks like that will be going away but the cost remains. I wander if the 120 minute rule will stay in place... it doesn't seem so. I remember being frustrated with Fast Pass + at times in the past because you get a solid 3 picks and then most of the rides you want would be “sold out” for the day and you only got 3 passes…. Or you had to settle for rides you wouldn’t need a fast pass for anyway. Especially in parks where the rides had tiered levels and you only got one top tier pick. In hindsight… there was nothing to complain about because it was free. Now????? Well… no one is forcing us to buy it…. Only time will tell.

Something new to learn! It’s good for me because I’m out of state and I like to plan ahead. My kids probably won’t like it because there are more people.

I think the new system is better than Genie+, if only because you don't need to wake up at 7am on your vacation and hope you can get something you want. Also, there's times like when I visit with my elderly parents, and the only thing they really want to do is Jungle Cruise and I can't get a time until 4pm or something, it will take some of the pressure off those rides (I hope) so those of us who need to prioritize it will choose it over other popular rides.

We had to pause at 24:13 to better understand things. At EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy is not listed as a Tier I and thus must be in another category. That just makes things even more confusing especially for the first time visitor. Your "exasperated nostalgia" at 31:52 for the way things used to be is exactly our sentiment.

I wished Disney would include multi pass for Deluxe resort guests

I have just found out that the 7 day advance booking for rides, on the new lightning lane system, will only be for US Disney Resort hotel guests. International Disney Resort hotel guests, like us from the UK, will not be able to book rides untill we are in the US. This is so unfair, as at the end of the day, we are still paying the same, (extortionate costs), as US guests to stay at Disney. I have just chatted online with My Disney, so it is straight from the horse's mouth. US citizens not staying at a Disney Resort will be able to book rides 3 days before they arrive. It is unbelievable! The free fast pass system worked fine. Disney have got greedy to make as much money out of their guests as possible. Trouble is people have accepted Genie+ by using it, instead of boycotting it, so Disney have continued to charge ridiculous prices for it. It is mind bending that you pay your entry ticket, pay Genie+ and then pay an extra amount to go on a ride like Snow White Mine Train.

Not to be a party pooper but my beef with the lightning lanes and the express pass at Universal is the fact that they are charging for them. How much money does a company need? It's the nickel and diming the guests that I am not happy about. There are too many things being charged for that should have always been free. Parking fees are ridiculous and even the resort parking fees that are still at Universal resorts are quite ridiculous. I am glad Disney did away with theirs. But I know they basically buried it in the increase of the room rates. And to think I used to get a value resort room for $54 a night back in the early 2000s.

This is better. You used to get 3 choices before, and no other. This sounds great to me you get more chances to get more rides in.

I’m nervous for the first time using the new system, but I also really like pre-planning things. My main concern is that at parks like Epcot, the only three rides that you need Genie Plus for are in the “choose one” category. In that situation it seems sorta like a ripoff. I’m happy all the rides at Animal Kingdom are on the same level though.

I don’t like the new plan at all. There won’t be any good fast passes available 3 days out and it makes no sense that international guests won’t be able to book fast passes until they arrive in the US.

I am in the middle with the change.Not good for Us Canadians we can NOT pre purchase the new lightning lanes multi ,we have to be in U.S. at time of purchase and no 7 days prior booking LL .

I wasn't a big fan of genie+, and unfortunately think this is going to be worse for many of us. We would gauge the crowd levels each day before deciding on genie+. Now, people who may want it are going to be forced to buy it in advance, whether they end up needing it or not. If you wait until day of, probably will be a waste of money as I doubt much will be available. Disney has found the perfect way to maximize genie+ sales.

Thanks Jackie! Is the new multi lane pass going to cost the same price as it did before ? I'm sure this is all due to a flux of people moving over from DAS passes (who are now denied)to now having to purchase lightning lanes. For whatever reason I'm sure Disney is doing its best to accommodate.

I think the LL system sounds like a definite improvement from the confusing Genie+ system, but not quite as good as old FP+, (especially not the price lol)…. I like that you can book three attractions in advance again, but a detail that *is* better than FP+ is that you can only reserve up to 7 days in advance of your trip, not months… I never liked having to choose that far out, and it was certainly nearly impossible for me to ask opinions of my less-informed, spontaneity-loving family so early.

Hi Jackie, so I don’t understand the system Disney uses or is switching to - especially since I live so far away and their entry prices are so cost prohibitive.
